INVOCATION

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen

Matthew 28:19

Confession & Forgiveness

P: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

C: But if we confess our sins, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:8-9

Time for reflection on God's Word

and for self-examination.

P: Let us then confess our sins to God our Father.

C: Most merciful God, we confess that we are by nature sinful and unclean. We have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We justly deserve Your present and eternal punishment. For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways to the glory of Your holy name. Amen.

P: In the mercy of almighty God, Jesus Christ was given to die for us, and for His sake God forgives us all our sins. To those who believe in Jesus Christ He gives the power to become the children of God and bestows on them the Holy Spirit. May the Lord, who has begun this good work in us, bring it to completion in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

C: Amen.

Prayers of the church

lord's prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed* be Thy name. Thy

kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give

us this day our daily bread; and

forgive us our trespasses as we

forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into

temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever.

AMEN

* hallowed means "holy"

Grace Alone

VERSE 1

I was an orphan lost at the fall

Running away when I'd hear

You call

But Father You worked Your

will

I had no righteousness of my

own I had no right to draw

near Your throne

But Father You loved me still

CHORUS 1

And in love before You laid the

world's foundation

You predestined to adopt me

as Your own

You have raised me up so high

above my station

I'm a child of God by grace and

grace alone

INSTRUMENTAL

Grace Alone

VERSE 2

You left Your home to seek out

the lost

You knew the great and

terrible cost

But Jesus Your face was set

I worked my fingers down to

the bone but nothing I did

could ever atone

But Jesus You paid my debt

CHORUS 1

And in love before You laid the

world's foundation

You predestined to adopt me

as Your own

You have raised me up so high

above my station

I'm a child of God by grace and

grace alone

Grace Alone

VERSE 3

I was in darkness all of my life

I never knew the day from the

night

But Spirit You made me see

I swore I knew the way on my

own head full of rocks a

heart made of stone

But Spirit you moved in me

CHORUS 1

And in love before You laid the

world's foundation

You predestined to adopt me

as Your own

You have raised me up so high

above my station

I'm a child of God by grace and

grace alone

Grace Alone

CHORUS 2

By Your blood I have

redemption and salvation

Lord You died that I might

reap what You have sown

And You rose that I might be a

new creation

I am born again by grace and

grace alone

END

So I'll stand in faith by grace

and grace alone

I will run the race by grace

and grace alone

I will reach the end by grace

and grace alone

SCRIPTURE READING

This morning's reading comes from the book of Ephesians, chapter 2, starting at verse

8.

8 For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift - 9 not from works, so that no one can boast.

apostles' creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God

the Father Almighty. From there

He will come to judge the living

and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

Amen

Scripture memory

John 14:6 CSB

Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Amen
